Mark is Managing Partner for Grimshaw’s London office. He is a specialist in rail, air and metro design. During his 15 year career at Grimshaw his experience has become an essential component for the completion of large-scale projects. He is currently working across the spectrum of the transport sector from masterplanning to designing at a regional level for new stations at London Bridge and Reading.
In addition to this, he prepared the competition proposal for Incheon Terminal 2 in Korea and led the winning team for the Pulkovo Airport Competition in St Petersburg. Mark has been extensively involved in work on airport projects for BAA at all stages of development, including the masterplanning of the second runway at Stansted and the design of the new 600m long midfield pier for Terminal 2. He also acts as peer reviewer for Grimshaw’s designs on the Crossrail underground railway coordinating all stages of the development.
Mark’s designs frequently utilise steel in new and innovative ways. His design for the 2007 Lubetkin Prize winning, Southern Cross Station in Melbourne and Newport Station are testaments to this.
